Dirtybird upholds its sterling reputation as a killer record label with this brand new rework from UK based producer Shadow Child.
Since the release of The xx's new album (Coexist) I've been saturated in a fatty mess of average-to-poor remixes; most if not all have been "tampering's" of the original tracks, the word "remix" barely applies.
Now however we can lay those demons to rest and slay the nightmarish intonations that have haunted my sleep since hearing the god awful Yashar Gasanov dubstep remix (it really was a pile of wank) with Shadow Child's house inspired rework of Angels.
Seemingly drawing inspiration from the bouncy sampling in the Bodhi Remix, Shadow Child firmly moves the song into house territory, its catchy melody sitting well with the occasional slow and long sighs of Oliver and Romy. Best of all - and I'm sure many will agree - Its a clean cut and simple remix, something I believe most if not all remixes of The xx have to be.
Also make sure you check out the Bodhi remix, video after the jump.
